I have built multiple RGB LED Christmas Tree kits and didn't like how they look just sitting on their black plastic battery holder. So I designed and printed a tree stand that the tree can mount to using 2.5mm or 3mm screws.

Assembly Notes

You can use 2.5mm or 3mm screws, I used a 2.5mm tap. PLA doesn't tap well unless you go really slow. PETG is a lot easier to tap in my experience. You can probably just use 2.5mm screws without tapping, but I haven't tried that yet.

How I Designed This

About the design process...

I run Ubuntu Linux on all my home computers. This limits my choices for CAD software so I have taught myself how to use FreeCAD since there is a native Linux version that seems to be getting more stable as time goes by.
