I wanted some simple an modern-looking rotation indicators for the stepper motors on my Prusa i3 and MMU that were in keeping with the styling of the printer.
There are 2 designs, one with an arrow to indicate a "forward" rotation direction (i.e. for the extruder dispensing filament) or the MMU filament feed motor (mirror the design as necessary).
The indicators have been designed to be printed on a Prusa i3 with MMU, with one filament for the detail colour and one for the background boss.
You'll need an 8mm diameter by 3mm thick magnet to superglue onto the rear boss of each indicator. I purchased a pack on Neodymium ones from Amazon.
I've included the original Solidworks part files, and STEP models so these can be customised with other designs - I had thought a spiral effect would be good for the MMU filament feed motor. Let me know if you do one.
The models are designed for printing an a multi-material printer (i.e. Pusa i3 with MMU).
Drag both the "_1.stl" and "_2.stl" files into PrusaSlicer to load and co-register them, then choose the filaments you want to use.
I recommend a 0.2mm layer height, and no supports should be need.
I've provided my ".3mf" file as an example setup.
