16mm pcv pipe (outer diamenter) cut into 66cm and 46.6cm pieces gives a great size play house for your kids.
use duct tape to enlarge the pipe ends if the pipes tend to slip out too easily, use a cord to tie opposite structures together if the building tends to collaps because the walls drift apart (especially true if there is a roof gable).
you need 4x balls/cubes and 8x 66cm pipes for a simple structure (which will not be very robust), 8x balls/cubes and 12x 66cm for a complete cube, additional 2 balls/cubes, 4x 46.6cm pipes and an additional 1x 66cm pipe if you make a roof gable.
the building can be extended at your discretion - pictures of your constructions are highly appreciated ;-)
