1200GS Oil Filler Cap Tool

The boxer engine in the BMW R1200GS (and other models with the 1200 boxor motor, 1250 and maybe even the 1150) requires a special tool to open. I decided to draw this up and share it for others that may be missing the special tool (usually found under the passenger seat). The geometry of my model is not 100% and I may spend time improving it at some stage but the geometry is pretty complex. It works in it's current state, works really well.

The model takes a number 6 metric hex wrench in the top or a screwdriver (<5mm diameter) through the side for leverage.

I printed it in PLA at 100 infill, at 20% infill I managed to snap it if I torqued it too hard.

I hope this saves someone! I really hate proprietary tools/fixtures. I hope this does not get DMCA - previously on another 3D file sharing site when I just mentioned the word “BMW” I got hit with a DMCA take down and had to remove all references to the German car and motorcycle manufacturer even if I was not infringing on copyright, I was merely describing what motorcycles I had designed a phone holder for.
