I have been customizing my Prusa printer work space for so long that I decided it was time for a handsome work lamp that also complimented the vibe. I designed this little work lamp to be easy to print, easy to customize, and easy to assemble with no tools. The only thing you need to purchase is a pendant-style, light socket cord. They're common, come in endless varieties, and they're cheap for the standard black ones.
This is my first 3D-Printed “product” to share so I would enjoy hearing your feedback and suggestions. I would also love to see your builds. Please share and enjoy!

Build Tips
- No supports are needed for any of these parts.
- I printed everything at .3MM layer height. I recommend a fill of 20% to support the general demands on a work lamp (e.g., adjusting, tightening, torque).
- Lamp Shade: I recommend printing it with the small end (the top of the shade) facing down to the bed. I flattened it so there is good adhesion. It is also a good idea to use a brim for extra stability. The brim peels off easily and that part of the shade is not visible once it's mounted.
- The threading on the nuts and bolts might get messy depending on your filament and printer calibration. I gave a pretty generous amount of space in the threads so most of the goobers will smooth out with a few gentle turns in and out. If not you might try printing at .2MM layer height.
- If you would like a bit more weight or height to the base I have provided an optional “Bottom-Weight” file that you can fill with ballast (e.g., poly-pellets, lead wheel weights, pennies).
Pendant Lights
I designed this lamp around a standard, pendant-style light socket cord that uses an E-26 LED light bulb. These light sockets come in a big variety of colors, materials, and switch configurations, so they are a lot of fun to design around. The sockets have a screw-on “ferrule” that holds the shade to the socket. That is also how you mount it to the lamp's head.

Notes on lights:
- Make sure to read reviews on the pendant light sockets before buying super low-budget models. There's mixed reviews and stories of shorts and sparks.
- Don't use the old-style, filament light bulbs that burn hot. They will melt plastic.
- Only use modern LED light bulbs.
