I created this for a Girl Scout project, where the scouts will be learning about screen printing & making T-shirts.

We are working with a professional shirt printer to get troop shirts made, but are also experimenting with the different ways we can make them ourselves. One option is this print-onto-sheer method for making a screen.

The sheer fabric is upcycled curtain material, and is taped directly to the print bed. The design is one layer deep and printed directly onto the material.

After printing, the screen/sheer is duct taped to a wooden frame (dollar store / craft store photo frame) to make something that can be handled nicely while printing.

Screen printing is done with Speedball brand inks, and an old credit card or gift card as a squeegee.
